Hugonek the dwarf From middle school No. 1 on Jelenia Street claims that he is a descendant, albeit distant, of the eminent mathematician Hugo Dionysius Steinahaus. In his daily tirades he tries to prove that he is as brilliant as the Patron of the school, and that the humanities are also a dwarf discipline. Middle school students love to talk with Hugonek during their breaks - the dwarf’s verbal gymnastics, filled with aphorisms, are excellent philosophical training for the youngsters. But it’s tough to say if any of them has the philosophy of life at their fingertips.
