The year 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly. This international convention, enacted on November 20, 1989, is a fundamental document in the protection and promotion of children's rights around the world. UNICEF, founded in 1946, by Ludwik Rajchman, a Polish physician and diplomat, plays a key role in implementing the Convention through its programs working for the health, education and care of children around the world.
