Stanisław Wolski

📍 Rynek

Staszek was created to commemorate Stanisław Wolski - an actor who made the audience of Lower Silesia fall in love with him for decades. He was a master of the stage, a man who could silence an entire room with one look and make a crowd laugh with one word.

Legend has it that every night Staszek comes down from the pedestal and wanders the city streets. He stops in front of theaters, where he recites fragments of plays performed by Wolski, and sometimes - when no one is looking - he helps young actors remember the text or... overcome stage fright.

One day, a little girl named Ania, sitting on a bench opposite the dwarf, started reciting a poem for a school competition. She made mistakes all the time, got angry and stamped her foot. Then she saw the dwarf's brass eyebrow move slightly and the mask in his hand begin to gleam slightly. Ania felt calm, smiled and... said the entire poem flawlessly. From that day on, she believed that Staszek Gwiazdek was her personal guardian.

Although many adults smile in disbelief, children know their own thing: the Actresses' dwarf really watches over the theater, the words, the emotions.
